Questions & Answers

The installation instructions imply that the boards can be nailed to particleboard, however elsewhere I have read that solidwood boards can only be glues to particle board subsurfaces. Can you please advise if these Natura boards can be nailed to particleboard. Also, can the boards be glued onto an underlay, or must it be glued directly to the subfloor?

Asked by Chris Ward from Dursley on 10 Jan 2022

1 Answer

Particle board is not the best thing to nail down onto as driving a nail through can compromise the board itself, a screw down installation would be a better idea. We would suggest that plywood is a better subfloor to be nailed onto. We would suggest that the floor is glued directly to the subfloor with no underlay required. Some underlays can be glued to but please refer to specific manufacturers installation guides.

Can your floor be used with underfloor heating

Asked by Alastair Maclean on 21 Oct 2019

1 Answer

Hi Alaistair, we do not recommend using our solid wood floors with underfloor heating, except from Junckers solid floors. The other option is to go for an Engineered wood floor, but there will need to be a DPM between the floor and subfloor.

Hi Following the question above about this wood being oak from Russia / Siberia (where there are problems with illegal logging) do you know exactly how it's grown, sourced and exported? Does it have FSC (or another) certification? It looks like an excellent product and I just want to check before going ahead with my purchase... Thanks

Asked by Bridget Newbery from Bath on 30 Aug 2016

1 Answer

Hi Bridget, Thanks for your question. This is not one of our FSC certified floors, but it does adhere to very strict EUTR regulations, which requires proof of where the wood is sourced. You can read about EUTR regulations here: https://fsc.org/en/for-businesses/timber-legislation/eu-timber-regulation-flegt And learn a bit more about our environmental policies here: https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/customer-service/environmental-policy I hope that helps put your mind at rest.

Hi, is this European wood? What is the difference between Natura Oak and the oak labelled as European woow? Kind regards, Sana

Asked by Sana Khan from High Wycombe on 24 Nov 2014

1 Answer

This product is sourced from Russia or Siberia. The difference between this and the European Oak is simply he original source. There are also some specification differences like thickness and length. Once installed the products will look very similar in terms of colouring, style & design, so the exception is the length.
