1 Strip (also called "plank")
The wear layer, the part of the board that you see and walk on, is sawn in one piece.
This gives an impression of large floorboards and often you can find all the natural variations
of the wood such as knots, variations in colour and in grain. Some boards have bevelled edges, to enhance the boards.
2 Strip
The wear layer, the part of the board that you see and walk on, are made of two
strips in the width. The strips are sorted to give the different floors different
characters. Some products offer long pieces of wood to look like a plank effect, whereas others provide short pieces similar in length to 3 strip boards.
3 Strip
The wear layer, the part of the board that you see and walk on, is made of three
strips in the width, in different lengths randomly placed on the board. 3-strip
floors offer the most variation of a floor, due to the amount of pieces per board. 3 strip floors can be a very economical way to replace an old carpet.
Ships decking
A floor with a maritime feel to it. With a decorative strip and wood plugs in each
end of the board to give the image of a real Ships Deck. The pattern is pre-made
and the floor is delivered in whole boards, saving you the time in laying strips.
Dutch pattern
An old classic board in a new way. The wear layer, the part of the board that you
see and walk on, is made of 3 strips in the width and one across. When the boards
has been laid it will be a beautiful "cable stitch pattern".
