Warranties and maintenance of your floor

Warranties generally cover any manufacturing defects with the products, as well as offering a wear and structural warranty; they can also outline the specifics of the grading.

All warranties are covered by the manufacturer. Parquet wood floors have a factory surface treatment and a solid wood veneer, which can be re-sanded several times. Wood floors are manufactured in accordance with accepted industry standards, which permits grading deficiencies. These grading deficiencies may be of a manufacturing or natural type.

The installer assumes all responsibility for final inspection as to grade, manufacture and factory finish. This inspection of all flooring must be done before installation. Carefully examine flooring for colour, finish and quality before installing it. The installer must use reasonable selectivity and hold out or cut off pieces with deficiencies, whatever the cause. The warranties are shown below, but please see individual products as some may vary:

How to look after your floor

While real wooden floors are tough, they aren’t indestructible. You can generally prevent most problems before they occur with proper care and maintenance products, ensuring your new floor retains its natural beauty, strength and durability.

Do:

  • Support furniture and heavy appliances with load-bearing felt pads
  • Moving appliances and furniture into place by sliding them slowly over the floor on a clean piece of carpet (turned upside down), or on an old towel
  • Place a quality door mat at the entrance of your home to help protect your floor from abrasive dust and grit and to help save unnecessary clean-up tasks
  • Maintain normal interior humidity levels. Most wooden floor types require a relative humidity range of minimum 30% RH, maximum 60% RH
  • Place area rugs in high - or concentrated - traffic areas to make long-term maintenance easier and less expensive
Dont:
  • Do not wax the floor, use conditioners, acrylic waxes, or ammonia-based cleaners
  • Do not use steel wool on the floor
  • Do not use soap or detergents on the floor and never use a wet mop or pour water directly onto the floor
  • Do not use Engineered Hardwood Flooring cleaning machines or steam cleaners

As you would expect warranties generally cover any manufacturing defects with the products, but can also outline the specifics of the grading.

All warranties are covered by the manufacturer.
