Questions & Answers

I'd like to lay this in my bathroom alas the floorboards are in a varying state. What sort of underlay would be appropriate to use as a base?

Asked by Ian Williams from Aldershot on 17 Jul 2019

1 Answer

Hi Ian, Thanks for the query. This is a stick down vinyl, so it has to be adhered directly to be the subfloor. This means the subfloor must be completely flat, dry and even. We would recommend possibly plying the entire subfloor if your current subfloor is unable to be levelled

The first picture shows framing of a section of the floor. How do you order those tiles, which i assume are different from the rest?

Asked by Kunal Gosrani on 01 Jul 2018

1 Answer

Hi Kunal, The tiles are actually the same, but they're separated with a Design Strip, which can be inserted between each board. You can find the Design Strip used here: https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/accessories/14877/polyflor_classic_oak_marquetry_strip plus we have more on our website.

How does each vinyl tile feel to touch? Are they a soft vinyl that will depress with heeled shoes or are they a brittle plastic type tile? Many thanks

Asked by Linda Forrest from Burnham on 20 Oct 2017

1 Answer

Hi Linda, we only sell Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT), which are all hard to the touch. The texture and weight of the tiles can vary between brands, but we never sell soft vinyl sheets.

Our son has just had Camaro Loc grey Mountain Ash installed today in his newly built property which he took possession of a couple of months ago. The fitter had left when he went to inspect so couldn't ask him, but he said when walking across the floor it sounds crunchy like crisp packets are under the flooring. Is this normal or has the fitter not installed it properly please?

Asked by Jackie on 11 Sep 2017

1 Answer

Hi Jackie, it sounds like the floor might have been installed without an underlay. The crunching noise may be tiny pieces of dirt being crushed under the floor as you walk. Of course, it's hard for us to say for sure without actually being in the room, but that's our best guess - it's certainly not normal!

Hi we already have Camaro vinyl down on the floor but want to change the colour, is it possible to go over the top with the sameproduct.?

Asked by brenda allworthy from london on 25 May 2017

1 Answer

Hi Brenda, if you're wanting to change the colour of this floor I'm afraid that can't be done with LVT floors. However, if you're wanting to install tiles on top of existing tiles then that should be fine, as long as the existing floor is flat, level and steady.

Hi there, Can these tiles be reused if there is a flood that get under the tiles for some reason?

Asked by jess bunyan from Leamington Spa on 17 Jul 2016

1 Answer

Hi Jess, This is an interesting one. The tiles themselves are waterproof so wouldn't be affected by flooding. However, if you needed to take up the tiles you'd find the adhesive to be too strong to remove them cleanly. Because of that it's unlikely you'd be able to re-use the tiles I'm afraid.

Is polyflor camaro suitable for under floor heating in my bathroom?

Asked by kirsten sedgwick from Manchester on 06 Mar 2016

1 Answer

Hi Kirsten, Absolutely! Not only is this floor 100% waterproof (making it great for the bathroom) it’s also perfectly safe to lay over underfloor heating. Be sure to check out quick guide on underfloor heating here: https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/advice/which-floors-can-you-use-with-underfloor-heating
