Unfinished Engineered Wood Flooring

Buying pre-finished engineered wood floors are all well and good, but what if you want to finish them yourself? Simple, just go for one of our unfinished engineered wood floors in beautiful oak. We've already sanded them, so once they've been laid, all you have to do is add your finish of choice, lacquer, oil, wax, paint, and limewash, the options are endless! Then simply step back and admire your new floor with that "I did that" feeling.

At Flooring Supplies, we have an affordable range of unfinished engineered oak wood flooring from our world-class quality Natura brand.

Unfinished Engineered Flooring Benefits

  • Customisable
  • Strength and durability
  • Affordability

If you are looking for an engineered wood flooring choice that you can put your own stamp on and perfectly match your décor, unfinished wood is for you. Our collection is fully customisable to your own taste and preference. So that once laid, you'll have the freedom to apply your own finish.

And, when you apply a finish to an already laid floor, the joints in between each plank will receive an added layer of protection. This is particularly beneficial for adding strength to your floor if you live in a busy household. Engineered wood is already an exceptionally durable flooring choice as it is constructed with multiple layers of plywood, providing you with a strong base for your finish of choice. However, applying a finish yourself offers extra durability.

Choosing an unfinished engineered oak wood floor does require some extra hands-on installation DIY to ensure it is finished and therefore protected. However, it is both affordable and allows you to add a personal touch to your home. Our collection is available in 20mm board thickness for added strength and toughness along with extra-wide planks - over 189mm wide - for added character.

Installation and Care Advice

Our unfinished engineered oak collection is suitable to be installed in living spaces such as hallways and conservatories, ensure you check the suitability description of each type of wood on individual product pages for detailed information.

As soon as possible after installation, any form of unfinished engineered hardwood flooring should be protected and sealed. You can do this with either lacquer or oil. This is required to safeguard it from daily wear and tear.

After installation and finishing, you need to look after your floor correctly. For general day-to-day care, sweep or vacuum away dust and dirt to prevent it from building. Make sure you read our Real Wood Floor Maintenance Guide for more of our expert flooring advice.
