Questions & Answers

does the parquet flooring have knots in

Asked by peggy williamson from sheffield on 05 Mar 2017

1 Answer

Hi Peggy, This floor is classed as a 'rustic' board, which means that you're very likely to find knots, cracks and other features in the wood. Any imperfections have been levelled with filler to ensure that the surface is just as smooth and stable as you'd expect.

Hi, Please can you tell me if this particular floor is FSC certified? Thanks.

Asked by Georgina Burney on 27 Feb 2017

1 Answer

Hi Georgina, I'm afraid this isn't FSC certified. But please follow this link to see a list of floors which of our floors are: https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/fsc

The dimensions seem too large for parquet flooring. Could you confirm that the dimensions in the information are correct please. Thank you

Asked by Alex Maughan on 24 Apr 2016

1 Answer

Hi Alex, Yes, this floor is a little larger than some parquet, but the dimensions listed are correct.

Do you have to glue all the joints to make the floor waterproof and fully sealed?

Asked by A Sadler on 22 Apr 2016

1 Answer

Hi there, Engineered floors are designed to seal very tightly without glue, but they're not waterproof I'm afraid. See here for a quick explanation on our floor types: https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/advice/an-introduction-to-flooring

Can this flooring be used with underfloor heighting

Asked by Roxan from UK on 12 May 2014

1 Answer

Yes it can 100% which is why its one of the very popular choices for anyone wanting a parquet design floor. We do not recommended the solid parquet.

i've heard that flat cut gives a better finish to engineered wood flooring, please would you confirm what kind of cut is on this flooring thanks

Asked by Tish from Highbury on 15 Feb 2014

1 Answer

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you mean by this. However, here's the installation instruction for you which I hope helps: https://static.flooringsupplies.co.uk/downloads/Timba-15mm-LOC-Herringbone-Instructions.pdf

I have concrete floor, which i'd like to lay this wooden floor onto. I would like advice on what thermal insulation to use, and what thickness this will add to the whole floor thanks

Asked by Tish from Highbury on 15 Feb 2014

1 Answer

The best underlay for a normal installation on the ground floor is the natura Silver, for upstairs the natura Gold underlay. But the others within the range can also work depending on your needs and budget. here's the list of products suitable for you: https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/search/1/category/brand/range/accessorytype/price/offer/natura%20underlay

Hi I was planning to use 5mm fibreboard with this floor to match the height of the flooring in the hallway. Can you tell me if this floor is suited to fibreboard? Thanks.

Asked by Andrew Lines from Chester on 08 Jan 2014

1 Answer

This underlay is suitable for all laminate and engineered products that we sell so can be used with the engineered herringbone options that we have.

Herringbone floors normally have a 2 block border at the perimeter. How is this achieved? Or isnt it! Is this floor designed to be fitted and finished at the perimeter as a normal floating floor.

Asked by David Taylor from London on 10 Nov 2013

1 Answer

Sorry but this cannot be fitted with the border as the locking joint doesn't allow for this design. As an engineered floor this is recommended as a floating floor finished to the perimeter.
