Questions & Answers

Thinking of order Eligna Venice Oak. Will the colour tie in with stairnosing colour?

Asked by Sue May from Clevedon on 09 Oct 2019

1 Answer

Hi Sue, We would recommend using the Incizo that matches the colour of your laminate exactly. Eg. if you're going for the Quickstep Eligna Venice Oak Light laminate, opt for the Quickstep Incizo Doorbar in the shade Venice Oak Light - you will also need the Quickstep Incizo Stairbase.

Hiya,i recently purchased the Oak St Kitts and was wondering if there is a stairnosing or an alternative to match this? Thanks

Asked by john lamont from scotland on 04 Apr 2019

1 Answer

Hi John, You have 2 options in this situation. You can either go for the Kahrs Solid Stairnose 1830mm (l) in the shade Oak Nouveau Gray, Alloy, but you will need to cut out the locking joint and stick it directly down. The other option is the Natura Solid Oak Stairnosing with locking joint which will lock into the boards but you will need to stain it to match the colour of the St Kitts. https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/product/14955/natura_solid_oak_stairnosing_with_locking_joint_unfinished__2m_length

hi, i have an uneven step between two rooms and this product look like what i need, the only issue is i need a pecan colour match not oak, i read on previous questions asked that you can colour match these to the flooring , is this correct?? regards, adam.

Asked by adam from spaldin on 16 Jan 2018

1 Answer

Hi Adam, your bet bet would be to buy the unfinished version and then stain it to the exact colour you're after: https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/product/14957/natura_solid_oak_stairnosing_with_locking_joint_lacquered__1m_length

Is there any tutorial on how it is fixed with the laminate flooring? How is the join between the nosing and the flooring? the thickness is 8mm

Asked by Roberta on 03 Jan 2018

1 Answer

Hi Roberta, when used with matching floors, this nosing locks into place with laminate flooring by using the built-in locking mechanism. If you've got any questions about your specific floor, feel free to give us a call.

Will the locking joint on the Natura stairnosing work with Kahrs 15mm Woodloc boards?

Asked by Bill Hunter from Cornwall on 03 Nov 2017

1 Answer

Hi Bill, we'd recommend using this stair nosing in the "Oak Straw/Camino" colour option.

Sorry to ask a really dim question but does the natura solid oak stairnosing fit the Natura solid oak wooden flooring 150?

Asked by Barbara Powley from York on 24 Jun 2017

1 Answer

Hi Barbara, that isn't a dim question at all! This product can be made to fit with a 150mm Natura floor, but only after a few modifications, which a professional fitter would have no problem with. Specifically, the all the joints of both the stairnosing and the flooring would have to be removed, so that the nosing can be glued into place. If you have any more questions, please feel free to give us a call.

Just trying to understand, does this fit 14mm engineered perfect (i.e. Natura Kerry) or does it have to be cut/shaped in any way to fit these? Would the finished version be very similar to the colour of Kerry or would we have to get the unfinished version to colour instead?

Asked by Jeremiah Lim from london on 03 Jun 2017

1 Answer

Hi Jeremiah, this product fits perfectly with the Oak Kerry, and has the same finish.

I have ordered Quickstep Creo Charlotte 7mm laminate from you, delivery Monday. Please can you let me know 1. the best join for the laminate at the top of the stairs the stairs will just be painted. 2. The best join for the laminate at the door into bathroom, where the floor is vinyl. Many thanks Dru Goryn

Asked by Drusilla Goryn from Great Wilbraham Cambridge on 13 May 2017

1 Answer

Hi Drusilla, the best join for the top of the stairs will be the Incizo Stair Base https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/product/13836/quickstep_incizo_stair_base_for_9_5mm_thick_floors combined with the Incizo 5-in-1 profile, which comes in a huge variety of colours. We'd just need your product code to find the exact colour match. The Incizo 5-in-1 would also work for the bathroom door.

A question about colour matching. Will this nosing match closely to natura white washed oak solid wood? I'd like the colours to be as close-a-match as possible. Thanks.

Asked by David on 25 Oct 2016

1 Answer

Hi David, If you're after a precise colour match we can create that specially for you. Give us a call and we'll get it sorted right away.

Will this match with Natura Oak Glenderry? Could this be used with the above boards if they are orientated 'end on' into the nosing? How would this work if the ends of the boards are cut? Is there a solution for this other than running the boards parallel to the stair nosing?

Asked by Graeme Cowie on 24 Sep 2016

1 Answer

Hi Graeme, This is a perfect match for the Glenderry, but some carpentry skills are required to make it fit cleanly. All nosing is created to work with boards which runs parallel to the stairs. We've got a quick guide on installing over stairs here: https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/advice/installing-flooring-on-stairs

is this fit in 6mm thickless laminate floor ? thanks lot

Asked by Tiffany Tang from Southport on 23 Sep 2016

1 Answer

Hi Tiffany, I'm afraid not - in fact, we don't have anything for that in store right now. Your best bet is to go to Quickstep or Pergo directly, as they'll definitely have what you're after.

Will this product work Natura Oak Matt lacquer Herringbone? How do I get a colour match?

Asked by Rachelle Williams from Worthing on 08 Sep 2016

1 Answer

Hi Rachelle, This product should work very well with that floor. You may have to square the joint off for a better fit, but other than that it should work perfectly.

how can I get a colour to match the natura bronze antique oak solid wood boards?

Asked by Duncan Cresswell on 01 Sep 2016

1 Answer

Hi Duncan, The Oak Bronze/Ember stain on the product 7028012EK5G will match in colour. However, we'll need to adjust it before we send it out to you so it matches the thickness of the floor, so please call us up before you make your order.

Does this product work with 14mm thick wood flooring?

Asked by Maddie on 21 Jul 2016

1 Answer

Hi Maddie, We're happy to say it does!

Hi, Will this work with Natura Oak Queens Engineered Wood Flooring? If not could you suggest an alternative stair nosing solution please. Thanks, Ryan

Asked by Ryan Steer from Brighton on 07 Apr 2016

1 Answer

Hi Ryan, Yes, this stairnosing will work just fine with that floor.

Hi there We are looking for solutions for our stairs and have found this nature stair nosing, like that it is locked into the flooring and isn't just glued on top like other solutions. Can you list which flooring you supply that this stair nosing would work with (engineered or solid?)? We would ideally be looking for a brushed finish (either matt laquer or oiled) as we don't want the steps to be too shiney. Thanks Niamh

Asked by Niamh Kennedy from Edinburgh on 17 Feb 2016

1 Answer

Hi Niamh, All Barlinek floors will be perfect with this. It's also good to know that all Kahrs or Quickstep Engineered floors come with perfectly matching stairnoses.

Hi there,Thank you so much for the floor sample you kindly sent me recently. I am wondering if you could answer a couple of our questions before we place our order: 1. Does Natura Oak Brooklyn Engineered Wood Flooring fit Natura Solid Oak Stairnosing with locking joint. Do they have the same locking joint? I understand that they are the same brand, so more likely yes, but it would be good to have this confirmed. 2. Our carpenter who will do our stair cladding for us is asking whether you recommend to glue the Brooklyn directly to the stairs or allow for foam or different underlay (if so what is your recommendation)? 3. Could you please suggest the best solution for joining new stairs cladding with laminated floor that already exists upstairs and won't be changed right now

Asked by Joanna Kiedrowska on 05 Aug 2015

1 Answer

Good Morning 1) Same joint but thicknesses are a little different, so requires a high level of carpentry skills to make good. I would suggest it would be more affordable to buy the natura Oak Kerry (exact same style design so looks exactly the same, just thicker so lasts longer) which does fit in perfectly so saves huge costs on the extra carpentry. 2) When wrapping/cladding any staircase you MUST glue down the boards directly to the staircase. You cannot float the floor due to H&S reasons. 3) If I understand your question you're asking how to join the landing tread to the last stair? Well depending on the laminate i would suggest you need to look at getting a stairnosing to match this laminate. We may even offer one but would need to know what product you have.
