What are Natural Engineered Wood Floors?
Natural engineered wood floors are engineered wood floors of a mid-tone - not light or dark but somewhere inbetween. We offer a vast range of natural engineered floors, perfect for your home or commercial space.
Why Choose Natural Engineered Wood Floors?
- Timeless
Natural engineered wood floors offer a classic look that will never go out of style. They even look better with time as the surface ages, they gain a warmer hue.
- Hard-wearing
Natural engineered wood flooring is constructed of layers of hardwood over high-quality plywood, therefore it endures excellent stability. Its strong structure means it is ideal to be laid in high-traffic areas.
- Versatile
The mid-colour means natural engineered wood floors will complement any interior design trend, any sized room, furniture, or colour scheme. Whether you have a sophisticated dark interior or a modern and light minimalistic space, the mid-tone provides versatility to experiment with different décors.
What Rooms are Best Suited to Natural Engineered Wood Flooring?
Natural wood engineered flooring is suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, living rooms and family spaces. It is highly durable and tough, and the medium colour also helps hide any dirt or dust that is traipsed into the room or mask any blemishes that may occur from knocks. You can use natural wood engineered flooring in kitchens, providing extra care is taken to prevent excessive moisture exposure.
Room Size
The colour of flooring can affect the room's perceived size. Lighter colours expand a space whilst darker colours add cosiness. Natural engineered wood flooring can do both. It is ideal for adding intimacy to large rooms or the illusion of space to smaller spaces where dark coloured engineered flooring is too intense.
Light Level
If your room is limited to access to natural light, a lighter coloured floor has always been a shortcut for adding brightness. In naturally bright rooms, dark flooring creates a striking contrast. Natural engineered wood flooring can equally be used for luminosity or adding warmth depending on the natural light level of your room.
Natural Engineered Wood Species
Natural Engineered Oak
Natural engineered oak is distinctive for its straight and swirling graining patterns which can have a silvery texture. The knots in oak wood help to give a space a traditional and classic appearance.
Natural Engineered Cherry
With a fine, frequently wavy but uniform texture, engineered cherry flooring is distinctive and unique. It's a fairly softwood which darkens with age.
Natural Engineered Maple
A light or pale timber with darker soft figuring and graining gives a room a clean, airy feel. Maple is one hardest hardwoods available, making it extremely durable.

Natural Engineered Wood Floorboard Thickness and Width
Engineered floor thickness refers to the height of the top layer of real wood. Thicker boards feel more premium underfoot, and it means they can be sanded down and refinished more times, increasing the floor's lifespan.
Plank width refers to the board's width on the floor. Our natural engineered collection comes in narrow, wide, and extra-wide. If you want to know more, check out our Engineered Flooring Thickness and Width Guide.
Easy Care and Maintenance
For general up-keep, sweep or vacuum engineered wood flooring regularly. Do not use a steam cleaner, wet mop, or bleach-based products to avoid damaging your floor. For more detailed care advice read our Real Wood Floor Maintenance Guide.
