We asked you to nominate your hero to win a brand new floor and hundreds of people nominated their hero, we were touched by the number of entries and humbled by the stories you shared! We're delighted to announce that Margaret Taylor was the lucky winner.
George Taylor nominated his Mother, after the struggles she's been through whilst isolating alone throughout the pandemic.
Margaret unfortunately has an eye condition, which has meant giving up day to day tasks like driving, leaving her stuck at home even more than before.
As we all know, our home contributes to our general health and wellbeing, especially during the pandemic, and Margaret's kitchen floor was opening up and lifting so badly, to the point George was kicking it into place every time he visited.
That's when they won our competition! George had already planned to fit a new floor, so this was a perfect opportunity. Margaret went for the Karndean Korlok Urban Grey Vinyl Flooring, a 5G locking joint floor, as per George's advice. He's familiar with Karndean, and knows his Mum would have never chosen one as expensive herself.
George then got to work fitting the new floor. They lifted the old floor, put some chipboard down, and then fitted the new flooring on top! Karndean Korlok was a great choice, as it's easy to lay, making it an ideal floor for DIY enthusiasts. George also pointed out the bigger tiles make it quicker to lay the floor too, which saves a lot of time.
Margaret's new Karndean kitchen floor is now completely fitted, and it looks amazing!
