Description

This product is 3mm thick foam and comes with a built in DPM (damp proof membrane) layer which is vital for any installation over concrete. Light and easy to handle and it cuts and fits with ease. Suitable for use with underfloor heating systems, this underlay has fair thermal insulation and sound impact reduction qualities. It can be used downstairs and upstairs in the home, although we suggest considering a specific acoustic underlay if noise is an issue.

Questions & Answers

I already bought engineered floor with this underlay but just noticed that in the largest room the floor has quite a few uneven board, would I be better off getting some fibre board underlay or will this one do fine?

Asked by Luis on 19 Aug 2018

1 Answer

Hi Luis, We'd recommend that all floors are installed on a flat, clean and even surface. If the floorboard you're installing on are only slightly uneven (roughly 3mm or less), then we'd recommend using fibreboard to smooth it over. Otherwise, you might have to call in a professional to level the surface, first.

Hi, I'm looking for an underlay to go on top of a cement screed floor with UFH, there is a DPM and insulation to the concrete slab, and we're installing and engineered wood floor - Is this underlay product suitable? Also should i glue it down or does that effect the transmittance of heat from the UFH?

Asked by Jaspal on 31 Jan 2018

1 Answer

Hi Jaspal, the Natura Bronze will certainly be good enough for this installation. However, for better heat transference from your UFH, we'd recommend this underlay: https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/accessories/16493/quicktherm_vapour_underlay

Hi, We have a 17 ft extension on the back which is now the Kitchen, with a rough concrete floor but haven't laid the floor tiles yet. We wanted to prevent the cold coming up through the floor after its been tiled. Is this product suitable and can it be glued to the the concrete floor and then tiled over???

Asked by Simon Harrop from Brighton on 13 Nov 2017

1 Answer

Hi Simon, this underlay is suitable for concrete floors as it has have a DPM layer, which prevents the damp that rises from concrete. However, if you want to keep out the cold, use our fibreboard underlay (Product Code: QAU-FFF-03) has exceptional thermal insulation which is perfect for use on very cold subfloors to make your room feel so much cosier and comfortable.

Hi, I'm planning on putting this under a Kronospan laminate floor in two upstairs rooms. What is the acoustic dampening rating, and will it work well with an 8mm laminate flooring?

Asked by Nicola Lugosch from Bishop's Stortford on 12 Jun 2017

1 Answer

Hi Nicola, whilst this floor will absorb some noise, it doesn't have an official rating. Instead, we'd recommend the upgrade to the Natura Silver, which absorbs up to 18Db of noise. https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/accessories/811/natura_silver_acoustic_underlay Alternatively, feel free to look at our summary of acoustic insulation underlays: https://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/advice/acoustic-underlays

Hi. I need to install a laminate floor on a Pipe Stapled and Manifold Underfloor heathing which is fixed to 100mm Reflective Insulation Boards then Screeded with a 3 parts washed sharp sand to 1 part Cement mixture with a "Pexatherm" heat transmission additive also added to the mixture. I don't want to decrease in any way the heating performances. Would this underlay make the job properly.
