Cherry - Prunus Serotina

Click here to find Cherry Flooring on our site

Cherry has long been prized for cabinet and furniture woods because of its rich reddish colour and fine graining.
Cherry has a cream coloured sapwood that contrasts sharply with the reddish heartwood. In the heartwood the colour ranges from pink red to dark red.

Where does Cherry grow?

Cherry grows along the East coast of North America.

Colour Change :

Cherry undergoes an extreme degree of colour change with pronounced darkening from a pale pink colour, when freshly milled, ta a dark reddish colour when fully aged. This process occurs within a few weeks in direct sunlight.
The colour on the left is the initial colour and the colour on the right is the colour after it a few months.
