This is just another term for “ Engineered wood flooring” it’s a real wood flooring
product consisting of layers of real wood pressed together.
The real wood surface veneer layer is available in many different designs and finishes,
and is also available in many different thicknesses ranging from 0.5mm up to 6mm.
A typical veneer being 3.6mm which can be sanded 4/5 times. This veneer thickness
is ideal for all domestic applications and light to medium commercial, to back this
up, John Lewis install 3.6mm veneer Kahrs flooring in all their stores.
To be more specific, during the manufacturing process the layers of real timber
run in different directions meaning it is more dimensionally stable than solid wood,
but identical to solid wooden flooring in appearance.
Engineered wood flooring is perfect for those areas of the house where solid wood
flooring may not be suitable, such as basements, conservatories or over under-floor
heating.
