Vinyl Tile Glue

Used this on our kitchen floor. So pleased that we will now be using it to lay same tiles in our new conservatory.

F48 fixative

It was great BUT you need to purchase about 25% more fixative than calculated from the instructions.

I have used Colonia Nordic White Oak a few times now and can highly recommend it .It not only looks very good when laid but is easy to use. The floor I have just finished was far from perfect but the Colonia covered all the imperfections . What can I say about the F48 what has not been said before it is very good easy to spread and very easy to clean up after use.

Not the trouble I thought it might be

Excellent adhesive, one that is clean and simple to use but very effective.

Q&A

Hi, We are looking at the possibility of sticking vinyl tiles on top of ceramic tiles which are already in place in the bathroom. I understand from previous questions that this product is not suitable for that - do you stock an adhesive which would be suitable? There is also an electric underfloor heating system beneath the ceramic tiles. Thanks.

Asked by Dan Hagan on 13 Dec 2016

1 Answer

Hi Dan, I'm afraid all adhesives need a porous surface, which ceramic tiles are not. You'll have to remove the tiles first and apply this adhesive to the subfloor. However, if that's not an option, we supply LVT floors with a locking joint, which can be installed on an underlay over the top of the old floor (assuming it's flat, even and clean). You can see our range of locking floors here: http://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/lock-together-vinyl-floors

I currently have laminate which is level and without gaps. If i roughen up the surface with 40grit, will the adhesive take?

Asked by Karen on 15 Jun 2016

1 Answer

Hi Karen, This glue needs to be used on a porous surface and I'm afraid even sanded laminate isn't porous.

Is this suitable for fixing Karndean vinyl tiles in a bathroom?

Asked by Andy Baker on 24 Mar 2016

1 Answer

Hi Andy, This adhesive is suitable, but Karndean have their own alternatives which are currently half price with any Karndean floor. As their products are such high quality (and at half price are cheaper) we'd recommend going with one of them! The Karndean Universal Adhesive can also be used in bathrooms: http://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/accessories/10327/karndean_universal_adhesive

Is this product suitable for use with an electric underfloor heating mat? If so, how many square metres will 5 litres of adhesive cover?

Asked by Sarah Kendrick from Gloucester on 09 Mar 2016

1 Answer

Hi Sarah, Yes, this product is designed to be suitable with most underfloor heating systems and should cover around 20m of floor. For more information, please see the data sheet here: http://static.flooringsupplies.co.uk/downloads/F48Adhesive.pdf

Will this stick Vinyl Tiles onto ceramic tiles on the Kitchen floor

Asked by David Lawson from Carlisle on 05 Feb 2016

1 Answer

Hi David, All subfloors need to be dry, flat, level, load-bearing and porous. Thanks

Can this adhesive be used to secure Polyflor Camaro onto a chipboard subfloor in a bathroom?

Asked by Alastair Masson from United Kingdom on 28 Feb 2015

1 Answer

Morning Alastair Yes this is the right product for that application.

Can you fix vinyl tiles to bathroom walls?

Asked by oliver de trafford from United Kingdom on 20 Feb 2015

1 Answer

Hi Oliver LVT is designed as a floor covering and is therefore not recommended for use on walls or ceilings I'm afraid.

can you put the vinyl on top of vinyl ,,thanks mark

Asked by mark lake from chirk on 30 Jan 2015

1 Answer

Not really are the LVT tile when glued down will only ever be as good as what its glue to so I'm afraid the old Vinyl has to come up.
